Rhonda Wunderlin (from Eloqua), recently asked Brian Carroll a great question at a Marketing Sherpa event in San Francisco. She asked him “was a lead a person, or can it be considered an opportunity?” Most of the people I meet would agree that a lead is a person; however, there are a few firms where the Sales use the term to mean early stage opportunity. This can be troublesome when you roll out a marketing automation system.
